When you think of the word holiday, what comes to your mind? For many people Columbus Day probably isn’t on that list. There are many reasons why Columbus Day can be debated whether it should be a national holiday I feel that Columbus Day should not be a national holiday. Columbus is remembered for discovering America. However, that is not the case at all. He landed in the Bahamas and the land was already occupied. Until this paper I only knew the good about Columbus. I didn’t realize the evil he brought to so many people. To me, Columbus was a villain not a hero, why should we celebrate an event that for some at that time was a tragedy.
