Watch the video: Functional Analysis of Problem Behavior – WMU Autism Center of Excellence (wmuace.com)
Step 1: Watch the video detailing Dr. Brian Iwata describing functional behavior analysis procedures and how to utilize these procedures effectively. Then, refer to the handout for the video – Michigan Autism Training Videos Presentation.
Step 2: Download the Functional Analysis Protocol document. The format is an example to give a starting point for guide creation of an FA.
Step 3: Looking at your data from previous modules, along with Dr. Iwata’s procedures in the video for Functional Analyses (FA), create a step-by-step guide for administering a FA. The format is completely up to you. Consider the following ideas for your format:
- Written document, like our example
- Presentation slides
- Video format
Step 4: Submit your completed guide, one that hopefully will be useful to you and those you provide services to for years to come!
Length: Complete the 6-page Functional Analysis Protocol template or create 5-7 slides with Presenter’s notes or create a 3-minute video with a script.
