After reviewing the article, Dignity and Respect: Why Therapeutic Assent Matters by Flowers and Dawes, explain how you would initiate one conversation of assent during the first intake or treatment planning meeting for a client. The client is working mainly on social skills training, is fully verbal, participating in mainly general education courses in the 10th grade of high school, and plans to attend college or technical/vocational after graduation. The second conversation is for a younger, elementary age, nonverbal client, working on functional communication skills. Parents/guardians attend and fully participate in both meetings. Responses are formatted in the discussion forum like other prompt assignments.
