“Each student will give a short presentation (2-3 minutes) that connects the assigned reading to an issue of present-day interest. The outline for this presentation (no more than one page) should be emailed to me by 8 PM the day before the presentation. The presentation should not be given in PowerPoint format, and should not summarize the text (this we will do together in class). Rather, it should highlight a specific passage/idea from the text and relate it to a relevant issue. In presenting, you should quote a few sentences from the assigned reading and explain how this passage is relevant to our current moment. The best way to approach this presentation is to follow the news and look for issues to which the text could apply.
